(2nd - 1st century BC)

Malta, is located in the center of the Mediterranean and was a port of call for the Phoenicians who settled on the island around 725 BC. Then the Greeks also came to settle on the island between the 7th and the 5th century BC In 480 BC, the island came under Carthaginian rule. The island came under Roman domination during the Second Punic War in 218 BC. But Melita, located in the center of the Mediterranean halfway between Africa and Europe, continued to undergo the multiple influences of different peoples who come to trade in its ports.
