Très bel exemplaire pour le type, avec un portrait expressif et détaillé du grand maître. On déplore une rayure transversale sur le portrait. Le revers est magnifique et conserve tout son brillant. Patine gris clair homogène

Ferdinand de Hompesch, more precisely Ferdinand von Hompesch zu Bolheim, (Bolheim November 9, 1744–Montpellier May 12, 1805) is the 71st Grand Master of the Order of Hospitallers of Saint John of Jerusalem. Fra Ferdinand von Hompesch. Admitted to the Order of the Hospitallers of Saint John of Jerusalem at the age of four, on December 9, 17483, Ferdinand de Hompesch was first a page of the Grand Master Manoel Pinto da Fonseca. He was subsequently appointed Ambassador of the Order to the Court of Austria, a position he held for twenty-five years, until July 17, 1797, the date of his election as Grand Master..
