Le British North Borneo Company administra le nord-est de l’île de Bornéo (l’actuelle province malaise du Sabah) à partir de 1882. Après l’occupation japonaise (1941-1945), elle ne put reconstruire les villes et insfrastructures détruites par les bombardements alliés. Elle vendit ses droits au gouvernement britannique et devint une colonie de la Couronne rattachée à l’Union Malaise..
The British North Borneo Company administered the northeast of the island of Borneo (present-day Sabah, Malaysia) from 1882. After the Japanese occupation (1941–1945), it was unable to rebuild the towns and infrastructure destroyed by Allied bombing. It sold its rights to the British government and became a Crown Colony within the Malayan Union.
