Créée en 1880, la Maison Bernot Frères est une importante société de commerce de charbon dont le siège est situé alors au 158 rue Lafayette à Paris. A son apogée, elle dispose d’une quinzaine de dépôt. Elle commercialise entre autres le boulet Bernot qui est le charbon du pauvre.
Founded in 1880, Maison Bernot Frères was a major coal trading company whose headquarters were located at 158 rue Lafayette in Paris. At its peak, it had around fifteen warehouses. Among other things, it sold the Bernot ball, which was the poor man's coal.
