Commentary

Même coin de droit que l’exemplaire du British Museum (BMC 282, pl. XII/3). La petite contremarque au droit est une petite tête d’Hélios à droite dans un ovale (GIC.SPCRE. 12) par C. Howgego qui a recensé six exemplaires pour ce type avec cette contremarque et semble avoir été apposée à la fin du règne de Gordien III, à partir de 243.
Same obverse die as the British Museum copy (BMC 282, pl. XII/3). The small countermark on the obverse is a small head of Helios to the obverse in an oval (GIC.SPCRE. 12) by C. Howgego who recorded six examples for this type with this countermark and seems to have been affixed at the end of the reign of Gordian III, from 243
