Coments on the condition:
Exemplaire sur un flan large, légèrement ovale avec les grènetis visibles, légèrement décentré au droit sur portrait au niveau du menton. Portrait de haut relief, bien venu à la frappe. Revers de style fin, mais de frappe un peu molle à l’usure superficielle avec une petite rayure dans la partie inférieure droite. Jolie patine de collection ancienne avec des reflets mordorés

Reverse description : Zeus aétophore, les jambes croisées, assis à gauche sur un siège avec dossier, nu jusqu'à la ceinture, tenant un aigle posé sur sa main droite et un long sceptre bouleté de la gauche.

Commentary
Frappé très certainement après la mort d’Alexandre III le Grand en 323 avant J.-C. L’atelier ferme ensuite vers 320 avant J.-C. Même coin de droit que les exemplaires du trésor de Meydancikkale n° 2112-2113, pl. 59.

Coinage in the name and Alexander III the Great type
Philip, son of Philip II and the half-brother of Alexander, was not entirely in his right mind. On the death of the conqueror and faced with the lack of power, in order to maintain the fiction of the unity of the Empire, he was proclaimed king, but in fact he had no power. He was assassinated at the instigation of Olympias, Alexander's mother, in 316 BC.
