Coments on the condition:

Exemplaire frappé sur un petit flan ovale et irrégulier, mais parfaitement centré des deux côtés avec un portrait magnifique. Le revers est de haut relief avec tous les détails de la Niké bien visibles, mais de frappe un peu molle. Cet exemplaire conserve une partie de sa fraîcheur de frappe et de son coupant d’origine

Obverse description : Tête casquée d'Athéna à droite, coiffée du casque corinthien à aigrette, orné d'un serpent ; les cheveux tombant sur la nuque en mèches torsadées.

Reverse description : Niké debout à gauche, les ailes déployées, tenant de la main droite une couronne et de la gauche la stylis ; dans le champ à gauche, un épi de blé vertical.

Commentary

Même coin de droit que l’exemplaire du British Museum (MP. n° 1518b, pl. VI), provenant de la collection Lang (1871) et lié par le coin de revers (MP. 1518a pl. VI) à l’exemplaire du trésor de Lanarca n° 37, IGCH 1472, découvert à Chypre en 1870, enfoui vers 300 avant J.-C. Mêmes coins que l’exemplaire du British Museum (MP. 1519, pl. VI) provenant de la collection du Grand Duc Mihialovich.
