Exemplaire de qualité exceptionnelle pour ce type de monnayage sur un petit flan bien centré des deux côtés. Magnifique tête d’Héraklès. Revers bien venu à la frappe, finement détaillé. Patine grise superficielle avec des reflets dorés

Pour les drachmes de Philippe III, nous avons au revers Zeus avec les jambes parallèles ou les jambes croisées. Semble complètement inédit et non recensé avec cette variante de monogramme dans le champ à gauche.

Coinage in the name of Philipp III and Alexander type
Philip, son of Philip II and the half-brother of Alexander, was not entirely in his right mind. On the death of the conqueror and faced with the lack of power, in order to maintain the fiction of the unity of the Empire, he was proclaimed king, but in fact he had no power. He was assassinated at the instigation of Olympias, Alexander's mother, in 316 BC.
