Exemplaire sur un flan large, parfaitement centré des deux côtés. Très belle tête d’Héraklès. Revers bien venu à la frappe. Patine de collection ancienne avec des reflets dorés

Reverse description : Zeus aétophore, les jambes croisées, assis à gauche sur un siège sans dossier, nu jusqu'à la ceinture, tenant un aigle posé sur sa main droite et un long sceptre bouleté de la gauche ; dans le champ à gauche, un cône surmonté d’un astre à neuf rayons ; monogramme sous le trône.
Reverse legend : ALEXANDR.U/ Q// (ME).

Coining the name and type of Alexander III the Great

Demetrius the son of Antigonus, who was killed at the battle of Ipsos in 301 BC He crushed Ptolemy's fleet at the Battle of Salamis in Cyprus (The statue of Winged Victory). Great strategist, he received the nickname Poliorcetes (the assiégeur). King of Macedonia after the death of Cassandra, in 294 BC, he was dethroned by Lysimachus and Pyrrhus and Antiochus died prisoner in Syria (283 BC.).
