LYDIA - Thyatira

(Second century BC)

Thyatira was a very ancient city of Lydia located on the top Lycos east of Apollonis. It was colonized by the Macedonians during the Hellenistic period by Antiochus I Nicator. Of cistophores were struck by Aristonikos under the name Eumenes III 132-131 BC The city had a major imperial coinage between the first and the third century for nearly two hundred years between Claude and Salonina.
