Masicytes was the central mountainous region of Lycia south east of Xanthos. Myra was the federal capital of the Lycian League and principal place Masicytes transmitter. Myra is mentioned by Strabo among the six major cities of Lycia. The city took its name from the eponymous river Myros and was located at its mouth by the sea The city, an important economic point of view does not seem monetarily known before 168 BC His coinage lasted until Third century AD.
