Exemplaire sur un petit flan ovale irrégulier, parfaitement centré des deux côtés avec les grènetis complets. Frappe un peu molle au droit. Joli revers. Patine de collection ancienne avec des reflets dorés

Commentary


Ce type semble beaucoup plus rare que ne le laissent supposer les ouvrages généraux. C’est la première fois que nous proposons ce type à la vente. Le pégase au droit fait penser à un bouclier épisème.

We have little historical information about these semi-independent Lycian satraps who established themselves in the second half of the 5th century. Their coins disappeared definitively during the second half of the 4th century, with the arrival in the region of the satrap of Cilicia, Mazaios.
