Jean of Bavaria, almost always in Holland, paid little attention to the Duchy of Luxembourg and entrusted its administration to Jean de Parsperg. Jean never took the title of Duke of Luxembourg and both in the charters and on the coins he had the title of Count Palatine of the Rhine, Duke in Bavaria, heir to Holland, Zeeland and Hainaut. Jean of Bavaria died in The Hague on January 5, 1425, probably poisoned by Jean de Vliet, husband of a natural sister of Jacqueline de Hainaut..
