Commentary
En 1792 la statue équestre de Henri IV est fondue pour faire des canons. La Restauration rétablit sur le terre-plein du Pont-Neuf la statue disparue avec les fonds d’une souscription publique.
In 1792 the equestrian statue of Henry IV was melted down to make cannons. The Restoration restored the lost statue to the central reservation of the Pont-Neuf with funds from a public subscription.
