Commentary
Techniquement la gravure n’est pas optimale et nous devons l’attribuer à Nuremberg même si le style est bien meilleur que les productions standards de l’atelier allemand. Les lettres de la légende ne sont pas faites au poinçon mais gravées manuellement et sont irrégulières. On peut penser qu’il s’agit d’une production privée et il est certain que le jeton n’est pas en argent malgré une surface parfaite. L’argenture est parfaitement d’époque et l’on doit constater que la révolution n’était guère populaire outre-Rhin.

The letters of the legend are not made with a punch but manually engraved and are irregular. One can assume that it is a private production and it is certain that the token is not made of silver despite a perfect surface. The silvering is perfectly contemporary and it must be noted that the revolution was hardly popular across the Rhine
