Commentary
The Paris workshop continuously struck half-ecus known as \\\"olive branches\\\" from 1774 to 1785 and then from 1788 to 1792. According to the work of Arnaud Clairand, published in the BSFN of December 1995, this ecus with a dot in front of the A was struck after September 15, 1791. This dot was placed to indicate that this half-ecus was struck under the authority of Inspector Guillaume Cressart, in office from September 15
