Jean Daniel Schoepflin (1694-1771) est un historien et bibliophile, badois par son père, alsacien par sa mère et strasbourgeois d'adoption, qui fut professeur d'histoire et d'éloquence latine à l'université de Strasbourg, conseiller et historiographe du roi Louis XV.
