Commentary
This token is a contemporary hybrid of the Feuardent 1295, which has the same obverse but the reverse of the 1714 Marine in the type of Neptune, and the Feuardent 1298, which has the same reverse. We do not know on what precise date, during the year 1715, the transfer of power took place between Jérôme Phelypeaux and the legitimized son of Louis XIV and Madame de Montespan. It is therefore plausible that the reverse of 1715 was used twice, first for Phelypeaux, then for Louis-Alexandre de Bourbon. The Phelypeaux token seems to be very rare
