Ce louis d’or est frappé sur un flan large et régulier présentant un petit coup sur la tranche à 3 heures au droit. De petites traces de laminage derrière la tête du roi. Reliefs un peu faibles au niveau des motifs centraux du revers car le buste du roi sort bien au droit. D’infimes hairlines dans le champ du droit

Ce type monétaire est particulièrement rare. Le millésime 1724 est le plus rare de la série, avec environ 9.600 demi-louis d’or frappés durant le second semestre, ceux-ci ne présentant pas de points secrets. Les premières remises de matrice attestées remontent au 6 janvier 1724, celles de 1723 n’étant pas documentées (Clairand, MRF, p. 768).
