Commentary
D’après les travaux d’Arnaud Clairand sur les monnaies de Louis XV, 43.235 cinquièmes d’écu furent frappés à Pau en 1766 et 30 exemplaires mis en boîte. D’après nos recherches inédites (A.D. Pyr.-Atlantiques, B-4309 ), ces pièces furent frappées suite à deux délivrances des 31 janvier et 30 avril 1766.
According to Arnaud Clairand's work on the coins of Louis XV, 43,235 fifths of an écu were minted in Pau in 1766, and 30 examples were boxed. According to our unpublished research (AD Pyr.-Atlantiques, B-4309), these coins were minted following two deliveries on January 31 and April 30, 1766.
