Ce quart d’écu est frappé sur un flan large et régulier laissant apparaître l’essentiel des grènetis. Jolie patine grise de médaillier. D’infimes hairlines dans les champs résulte d’un nettoyage ancien

Les quarts d'écu à la mèche courte ont été frappés dans seulement trois ateliers : Paris de 1643 à 1645, Lyon de 1645 à 1651 et Troyes de 1651 à 1656.
