Commentary
Victoire remportée sur les Turcs par l’Empereur Léopold près du monastère de Saint Gotthard, le Szentgotthard hongrois d’aujourd’hui. La Ligue du Rhin, dont la France faisait partie, avait envoyé un contingent de 6000 hommes. L’armée chrétienne était sous le commandement du général Montecucoli. Les troupes françaises étaient commandées par le comte de Coligny.
Victory over the Turks won by Emperor Leopold near the monastery of Saint Gotthard, today's Hungarian Szentgotthard. The League of the Rhine, of which France was a member, had sent a contingent of 6,000 men. The Christian army was under the command of General Montecucoli. The French troops were commanded by Count de Coligny.
