Ce demi-écu est frappé sur un flan large et légèrement irrégulier. Monnaie ayant été nettoyée  présentant des hairlines en plus de stries d’ajustage

Commentary
Demi-écu frappé sur un flan de conversion (flan neuf) dont nous ne connaissons que cet exemplaire. il s’agit de celui se trouvant sur le site de la Société Numismatique du Limousin. D’après nos recherches inédites en archives, il n’y a eu que quatre délivrances entre le 5 avril et le 30 août 1694. 1.749 demi-écus ont été mis en circulation durant cette période. Le dessus de la couronne du revers est perlé. François Ponroy, le graveur particulier de la Monnaie de Limoges officiant à cette époque, s’est parfois livré à des retouches dans les carrés en ajoutant même parfois des fruits dans les palmes ou un ruban perlé à la base des palmes.
Half-écu struck on a conversion flan (mint flan) of which we only know this example. It is the one on the website of the Société Numismatique du Limousin. According to our unpublished archival research, there were only four issues between April 5 and August 30, 1694. 1,749 half-écus were put into circulation during this period. The top of the crown on the reverse is pearled. François Ponroy, the private engraver of the Limoges Mint officiating at this time, sometimes made retouches in the squares by sometimes even adding fruits in the palms or a pearled ribbon at the base of the palms
