Commentary
Ce jeton, dont le buste au droit est très rare, doit dater de 1615. C’est cet exemplaire qui illustre le type dans le Guéant Prieur. La légende VVLTV QVO COELVM n’a guère de sens si l’on omet la suite du vers de l’Énéide TEMPESTATESQVE SERENAT. Pris dans son ensemble, le vers se traduit par “Avec un visage qui apaise le ciel et les tempêtes”.
