Ce double tournois est frappé sur un flan large et légèrement irrégulier présentant des faiblesses de frappe. Monnaie recouverte d’une patine marron portant de petites taches vertes

Commentary
Monnaie rarissime au millésime 1610. Nous doutions de l’existence de doubles tournois de Nantes au millésime 1610 et à l’effigie de Louis XIII pourtant signalé dans le CGKL. Le 0 du millésime de l‘exempaire illustré étant mal venu à la frappe, il aurait pu s’agir d’un exemplaire frappé en 1616, d’autant plus que des doubles tournois de Nantes à l’effigie d’Henri IV sont connus pour 1611. Cet exemplaire bien lisible prouve que des doubles tournois au nom de Louis XIII ont bien été frappés en 1610 à Nantes.
Extremely rare coin dated 1610. We doubted the existence of double Nantes tournois dated 1610 and bearing the effigy of Louis XIII, although they were mentioned in the CGKL. The 0 of the dated example illustrated was not well placed at the time of striking, so it could have been a example struck in 1616, especially since double Nantes tournois bearing the effigy of Henri IV are known for 1611. This clearly legible example proves that double tournois bearing the name of Louis XIII were indeed struck in 1610 in Nantes.
