Commentary
Monnaie particulièrement rare avec pedigree ancien (collection Marchéville, 1928) frappée en 1514 en prévision de la reconquête des territoires perdus en Italie. En raison du décès de Louis XII, la guerre sera menée par François Ier dont l’un des épisodes les plus connus fut celui de la bataille de Marignan (1515).
Particularly rare coin with ancient pedigree (Marchéville collection, 1928) struck in 1514 in anticipation of the reconquest of the lost territories in Italy. Due to the death of Louis XII, the war was led by François I, one of the most famous episodes of which was the Battle of Marignano (1515).
