Commentary
Ferdinand Philippe, fils ainé de Louis-Philippe, meurt dans un accident, le 13 juillet 1842, durant le règne de son père. La chapelle de Dreux est le lieu de repos éternel des membres de la famille d'Orléans. Ce jeton existe avec à l’avers une représentation du décès avec le duc dans son lit de mort.
Ferdinand Philippe, Louis-Philippe's eldest son, died in an accident on July 13, 1842, during his father's reign. The chapel of Dreux is the final resting place of the members of the Orléans family. This token exists with a representation of the death on the obverse, with the Duke in his deathbed.
