Ce denier est frappé sur un flan assez large, irrégulier et légèrement voilé. Monnaie recouverte d’une patine grise avec de petits manques de métal. Rayure à 1 heure au revers

Denier de la plus grande rareté absente des principaux ouvrages de référence. Georges Depeyrot est le seul à mentionner un unique denier conservé à Montpellier et présentant 1,49 g. Celui-ci serait le deuxième connu.
A denier of the greatest rarity, absent from the main reference works. Georges Depeyrot is the only one to mention a single denier preserved in Montpellier and weighing 1.49 g. This would be the second known one

LOUIS THE BLIND, KING OF PROVENCE

(890-929)

Louis, the son of Boson, recovers Provence in 890. For more than ten years he will be the unfortunate competitor of Béranger who ends up blinding his opponent in 905. Louis the Blind retires to Provence where he dies in 929.
