Commentary

Obole de la plus grande rareté dont le très rare denier au même type était représenté par neuf exemplaires dont - huit très usés - le trésor de Fécamp. Monnaie connus par deux autres exemplaires selon Georges Depeyrot, l’une dans les collections Berlinoises et une autre découverte lors de fouilles menées à Poitiers et publiée par Michel Dhénin en 1999.
An extremely rare obol, the very rare denier of which was represented by nine examples, including eight very worn ones, in the Fécamp treasure. The coin is known from two other examples according to Georges Depeyrot, one in the Berlin collections and another discovered during excavations in Poitiers and published by Michel Dhénin in 1999.
