Ce demi-gros est frappé sur un flan voilé présentant un léger manque de métal. Coup au-dessus de la rose gauche du revers. Exemplaire recouvert d’une patine grise foncée

Commentary


Monnaie de la plus grande rareté absente de nombreuses collections. L’exemplaire illustré dans le Flon l’est à partir d’un frottis d’un exemplaire ayant appartenu à Jules Florange. Monnaie apparemment connue à trois exemplaires.

LORRAINE - DUCHY OF LORRAINE - JOHN I

(1346-1390)

Jean I first found himself placed under the regency of Marie de Blois. He was taken prisoner at the Battle of Poitiers and was only released after the Treaty of Brétigny (1360). Jean supported Charles de Blois and was taken prisoner at the Battle of Auray. He remained faithful to the French alliance and died in 1390.
