LORRAINE - Duchy of Lorraine - JEAN IER

(1346-1390)

John I first found himself placed under the regency of Marie de Blois. He was taken prisoner at the Battle of Poitiers and was released after the Treaty of Brétigny (1360). Jean Charles de Blois supported and was taken prisoner at the battle of Auray. He remained faithful to the French alliance and died in 1390.
