Commentary
This type of bronze is related to the trans-Pyrenean Celtiberian coinage. The prototype is certainly to be found in the tripod bronzes of Marseille. This specific type, with the legend BWKIOC in front of the face, corresponds to No. 4 of L. Villaronga, who studied 19 examples and classifies this type as R4. The reverse legend, often misplaced, is supposed to be LOGGOSTA-LETON and BIURBI. This is the most beautiful example of this type that we have ever had for sale!
