Historical background

LIMOUSIN - VISCOUNTCY OF LIMOGES - GUY VII

(1315-1317)

On the death of Isabelle de Valois, Viscount Jean III of Limoges remarried in 1310 to Isabelle de Castille. In March 1314, he granted his wife the Viscountcy of Limoges in Douaire, before ceding it to his brother Guy in 1315. This assignment was the source of conflicts between Isabella of Castile and Guy VIII.
