Obverse description : Buste lauré et consulaire de Licinius II à gauche vu de trois quarts en avant, tenant un globe et un sceptre de la main gauche et la mappa de la main droite (H*23).
Obverse translation : “Dominus Noster Valerius Licinianus Licinius Nobilissimus Cæsar” (Notre seigneur Valère Licinianus Licinius très noble césar).

Reverse legend : IOVI CONS-ERVATORI CAESS/ -|H// SMANT.
Reverse description : Jupiter nu debout de face, la chlamyde sur l'épaule gauche tenant un globe nicéphore de la main droite et un sceptre long de la main gauche ; dans le champ à gauche, un captif parthe agenouillé, les mains attachées dans le dos.
Reverse translation : “Iovi Conservatori Cæsarum” (À Jupiter, protecteur des césars).

Caesar

Licinius II, son of Licinius I and Constantia, nephew of Constantine I, was raised to the caesarat on March 1, 317, at the same time as his cousins Crispus and Constantine II. After his father's defeat in 324, he survives, but suffocates to death two years later.
