Coments on the condition:
Exemplaire sur un petit flan ovale et irrégulier, bien centré des deux côtés avec les grènetis visibles. Très beau portrait. de Licinius Ier Revers de style fin, où tous les détails du Génie sont visibles. Belle patine marron foncé

Obverse description : Buste lauré et cuirassé de Licinius Ier à droite drapé sur l’épaule, vu de trois quarts en avant (B*01).
Obverse translation : “Imperator Licinius Pius Felix Augustus”, (L'empereur Licinius pieux heureux auguste).

Reverse legend : GENIO - POP ROM/ A|S// PTR.
Reverse description : Genius (le Génie) debout à gauche tourelé, vêtu de l’himation, tenant une patère de la main droite et une corne d'abondance de la main gauche.
Reverse translation : “Genio Populi Romani”, (Au Génie du Peuple romain).
Commentary
Poids lourd. Rubans de type 3 aux extrémités bouletées. Cuirasse lisse et épaulière cloutée. Ptéryges fines. Les lettres T|F dans le champ du revers pourraient se traduire par “Temporum Felicitas” ou les temps heureux.

Licinius I was proclaimed august directly following the conference of Carnuntum, on November 11, 308. In 313, after the rescript of Milan, he married Constantine's half-sister, Constantia. In 316 a first war took place between Licinius and Constantine. It ends with the death of Valens and the signing of a peace between the two augusts. On April 1, 317, three Caesars were created: Crispus, Constantine II and Licinius II. A second war broke out between Constantine and Licinius in 321. It ended with the decisive defeat of Chrysopolis in 324 and the deposition of Licinius, exiled to Thessalonica before being executed the following year..
