LEO VI THE WISE

Leo VI, the second son of Basil, eventually succeeding him in 886. Nicknamed the "Philosopher", he completed the legal work begun by his father he published under the generic term Basilica. These works were written in Greek and used throughout the medieval period. His son, Constantine VII was associated with power in 908 and came to power, minor, in 913, after the death of Alexander VI, brother of Leo VI.
