Historical background

Kushan - Kushan Empire - Vasou DEVA III and his successors

The Koushan empire emerged from the ruins of the kingdom of Bactria and the Indo-Kush. We know gold coins for Vima Kadphises (108-142), a contemporary of Trajan and Hadrian. The empire reached its zenith under Vasou Deva I (185-228) and then disappeared in the second half of the fourth century, replaced by the Gupta empire founded by Chandragupta I (320-335). uses cookies to guarantee a better user experience and to carry out statistics of visits.
