Ce lot se compose des pièces de :

- 50 Paisa 1940 (VS1997) KM 718
- 20 Paisa 1938 (VS 1995) KM 714

Les monnaies népalaise à partir de 1889 sont datées selon l’ère de Bikram Samvat. Il faut retirer 57 ans à l’année exprimée dans cette ère pour convertir en calendrier occidental.

Nepal was independent in 1923 when Britain withdrew its resident. Prime ministers from the Rana family who actually held power were ousted in 1951 by a coup d'etat by reigning ruler Tribhuvana Bir Bikram. Nepal then became a constitutional monarchy, the first elections of which took place in 1959 and a multi-party system was authorized in 1990..
