KINGDOM OF BURGUNDY - CONRAD THE PEACEFUL

(937-993)

Conrad (937-993) became King of Burgundy in 937, succeeding his father Rudolf II. He married in 964 Mathilde (934 - c. 980), the daughter of Louis IV d'Outremer and the sister of Lothair, who brought him Lyon as a dowry. Conrad unites the kingdom of Arles with that of Burgundy, forming the great kingdom of Provence.
