Exemplaire sur un flan extrêmement large, parfaitement centré des deux côtés avec les grènetis visibles. Beau portrait bien venu à la frappe. Joli revers. Magnifique patine verte, légèrement granuleuse

Obverse description : Buste de Justinien Ier, diadémé avec pendilia, couronné et cuirassé de face, tenant le globe crucigère de la main droite et un bouclier orné d'un cavalier de la gauche (N1'a) ; diadème perlé ; dans le champ à droite, une croix.
Obverse translation : “Dominus Noster Iustinianus Perpetuus Augustus”, (Notre seigneur Justinien perpétuel auguste).

Commentary


Pendilia aux extrémités bouletées. Diadème orné. Bouclier orné d’un cavalier. Notre type de follis est frappé après l’adoption de la taille au 1/12 L. en l’an 13, nous avons deux officines.

JUSTINIAN I

Justinian succeeded his uncle Justin in 527 after a co-regency from April 4 to August 1, 527. He reigned with Empress Theodora.
