Exemplaire sur un petit flan, légèrement décentré avec une marque de surfrappe très importante, mais parfaitement lisible et identifiable. Patine marron foncé
Predigree :
Cet exemplaire est accompagné d’un petit papier indiquant que ce decanummium a été trouvé le 12 mai 1908 au Kef (près de Zarzis, Tunisie)

Commentary


Poids léger. Exemplaire surfrappé sur un decanummium de Carthage à la victoire, frappé en 548-549 (BC. 271). Trace de double frappe.

JUSTINIAN I

Justinian succeeded his uncle Justin in 527 after a co-regency from April 4 to August 1, 527. He reigned with Empress Theodora. The construction of Hagia Sophia was completed under his reign, which marks the height of the Byzantine conquests. Carthage as well as Africa and part of Numidia were reconquered from the Vandals thanks to General Bélisaire. After a century of Vandal domination, Romanism once again reigned over the Mediterranean.
