Exemplaire sur un flan large et épais bien centré. Portrait de Justin Ier taillé à la serpe. Joli revers. Patine verte

Commentary
Rubans de type 3 aux extrémités bouletées. Ptéryges larges sous le paludamentum. Au revers, la marque de valeur est encadrée par deux étoiles à six rais et d’une croisette.

Justin I, illiterate of Macedonian origin, was a brilliant military leader under the reigns of Zeno and Anastasius. At the time of his accession, he was commander-in-chief of the "excubitores" (guards) of Constantinople. He succeeded Anastasius and associated his nephew Justinian with power, who became co-emperor on April 4, 527. Justin died on the following August 1.
