Exemplaire sur un flan large et irrégulier, parfaitement centré des deux côtés avec les grènetis visibles. Très beau portrait frappé avec un coin mou. Joli revers. Très belle patine noire lissée

Justin I, illiterate of Macedonian origin, was a brilliant military leader under the reigns of Zeno and Anastasius. At the time of his accession, he was commander-in-chief of the "excubitores" (guards) of Constantinople. He succeeded Anastasius and associated his nephew Justinian with power, who became co-emperor on April 4, 527. Justin died on the following August 1.
