ITALY - LORDSHIP OF MILAN - BERNABO VISCONTI
(1354-1378-1385)
Third son of Etienne Viconti, Barnabé Visconti (1323-1385) is lord of Milan. On the death of my uncle Jean in 1354, Mathieu II, Galéas II and Barnabas shared the seigniories in trust. Barnabas reigns over Bergamo, Brescia, Cremona, Soncino, Lonato and Val Camonica. In 1378, on the death of his brother Galéas II, he considered himself the sole lord of Milan. In 1385, his nephew Jean Galéas, whom he removed from power, took him prisoner. He died in prison on December 19, 1385.
