Victor-Amédée III was king of Sardinia from 1773 to 1796. He was born on June 26, 1726 at the royal palace in Turin, died on October 16, 1796 at the castle of Moncalieri. He is prince of the House of Savoy, king of Sardinia, sovereign of the duchy of Savoy, of the principality of Piedmont, and of the county of Nice. Son of King Charles-Emmanuel III and his second wife Polyxène of Hesse-Rheinfels-Rotembourg, Victor-Amédée reigned from 1773 until his death in 1796..
