Commentary


Ce type est frappé suite à la patente du 29 mai 1832 pour les ateliers de Gênes et de Turin. Charles-Albert remplace la fabrication des pièces de 80 et de 40 lires par celles de 100 et de 50 lires. Les pièces sont frappées entre 1831 et 1849 pour les ateliers de Turin et de Gênes.

Charles-Albert (2/10/1798- 28/08/1849) is the son of Charles-Emmanuel de Savoie. He succeeded his uncle in 1831. After the defeat of Novarre, he abdicated on March 24, 1849, in favor of his son Victor-Emmanuel II. He died in Porto on August 28 of the same year..
