Commentary


A la suite de la paix de Lunéville (9 février 1801), l'Autriche céda la Toscane à Louis de Bourbon. Louis devint roi d'Étrurie le 2 août 1801. Il mourut le 27 mai 1803. Son fils Charles-Louis (Louis II) lui succéda sous la régence de sa mère. Dans le Royaume, il y avait deux systèmes monétaires différents, l'un pour Florence (Dena) et l'autre pour Pise (Francescone).
Following the Peace of Lunéville (February 9, 1801), Austria ceded Tuscany to Louis of Bourbon. Louis became King of Etruria on August 2, 1801. He died on May 27, 1803. His son Charles-Louis (Louis II) succeeded him under the regency of his mother. In the Kingdom, there were two different monetary systems, one for Florence (Dena) and the other for Pisa (Francescone).

By the Treaty of Lunéville of February 9, 1801, Tuscany was ceded by Austria to the Infante of Spain Louis de Bourbon Parme, married to Marie Louise of Spain, one of the daughters of Charles IV. The Treaty of Madrid of March 21, 1801 ratifies the cession of Parma to France. On August 2, Louis was proclaimed King of Etruria. He died on May 27, 1803. His son Charles-Louis was King under the regency of his mother. Its states were incorporated into France on December 10, 1807. In the kingdom there were two different monetary systems, one for Florence (Dena) and the other for Pisa (Francescone).
