Victor Emmanuel II (14/03/1820-9/01/1878), son of Charles Albert and Theresa of Tuscany, succeeded his father abdicated in 1849. In twelve years, with the help of Cavour and the alliance of France, it will restore the kingdom of Italy in its favor in 1861 but it took Rome in 1870.
