Le demi-scudo nuovo vaut 3 lires piémontaises et la lira 20 soldi. La doppia en or correspond à 4 scudi de 6 lires. La fabrication du nouveau monnayage a commencé en 1755 et dure jusqu'en 1772. Le type est créé suite à l'ordonnance du 25 janvier 1755. Au total 3.874.319 pièces furent frappées entre 1755 et 1772.
The half scudo nuovo is worth 3 Piedmontese lire and the lira 20 soldi. The gold doppia corresponds to 4 scudi of 6 lire. The production of the new coinage began in 1755 and lasted until 1772. The type was created following the ordinance of January 25, 1755. A total of 3,874,319 coins were minted between 1755 and 1772.

(1730-1773)

Charles-Emmanuel III (1701-1772) succeeded his father Victor-Amédée II (1666-1732) in 1730. He was married three times including one to Élisabeth de Lorraine (1711-1741) and is therefore the brother-in-law of Francis III of Lorraine. His eldest son Victor-Amédée III (1726-1796) succeeded him.
