Commentary


Le revers de notre pièce, fabriquée à 300.000 exemplaires, commémore la Paix de Lunéville du 9 février 1801 qui confirme l'indépendance de cettte République "sœur". Notre pièce correspond à un quart de scudo ou à une lire et demie et vaut un dixième de zecchino ou "1,5 lire" milanaise.
The reverse of our coin, produced in 300,000 examples, commemorates the Peace of Lunéville of February 9, 1801, which confirmed the independence of this \\\"sister\\\" Republic. Our coin corresponds to a quarter of a scudo or one and a half lire and is worth one tenth of a zecchino or \\\"1.5 lire\\\" Milanese

ITALY - CISALPINE REPUBLIC

(06/16/1800-01/26/1802)

The Cisalpine Republic was created on June 29, 1797 following the Treaty of Tolentino. Disappeared in the turmoil following the capture of Milan on April 17, 1799, it was restored after the victory of Marengo on June 14, 1800. On January 26, 1802, it disappeared again to become the Italian Republic.
